Extreme overclocking board

Foxconn
has finally launched its long-coming BlackOPS motherboard, the second board in the Quantum Force series. The new BlackOPS is based on Intel's X48 chipset and comes with some extreme overclocking features, just as you would expect from a motherboard made under the watchful eye of Shamino.

The new BlackOPS has four different chipset cooling options, depending on how far you want to push your Core 2 Extreme, Core 2 Quad or Core 2 Duo CPU. Those cooling options include regular air cooling, a water cooling block and a pot for either LN2 or dry ice.

Other specs include FSB of up to 1,600MHz, up to 8GB of dual channel DDR3 1600/1333/1066/800MHz memory, CrossfireX support, three PCI-Express x16 slots with two offering full x16 bandwidth and 2.0 spec, with the third being limited to x4 bandwidth. Other unique features includes an 8-phase digital PWM for maximum Voltage stability during serious overclocking and a new SONAR audio daughter card based on Realtek's ALC885 chip.

Foxconn's new Blackops should be available sometime during this month, but be prepared for a high price, as the suggested retail price is US$400.
