2X AI performance over 7nm Kirin

Alex Katouzian, a senior vice president ( SVP) of Qualcomm and the general manager of mobile, has announced the Snapdragon 855. He went into a few details leaving full disclosure for tomorrow, but he did say that its AI performance is twice as fast than the 7nm Android device.

Our extremely well-informed sources have confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy S10 will ship in late March/early April 2019. This goes for both the Exynos 8920 as well as the Snapdragon 855 version of the phone. Samsung has traditionally been shipping Galaxy S smartphones anywhere from late March to early June, depending on the version of the phone and the region.

Two different chips

Qualcomm is scheduled to update us on the future mobile SoC in early December and if it was not clear before, these 7nm solutions are two different chips.

Coming in 2019

OnePlus is part of the big six alliance committed to bringing their 5G phones in 2019 and it is not surprising that this is still on schedule. China, the US, and a few European countries will have 5G networks ready in the course of 2019.

5G, Qualcomm and Exynos mix

The chaps at XDA developers have got their hands on a Galaxy S9+ Android 9.0 / Pie ROM and found proof and the codenames for existing and future Galaxy S10 phones.

A significant step forward in Geekbench 4

The press usually relies too much on benchmarks but they at least tell you that a subject A is better or worse than subject B. The recently posted GeekBench of Snapdragon 855 shows that the new 7nm SoC from Qualcomm scores much better than its predecessor.

Snapdragon Takes Aim at 5G with 7nm SoC

Qualcomm just sent out the official press release saying it has started sampling its next generation mobile platform for consumers in 7nm. This 7nm platform can be paired with Snapdragon X50 5G modem creating the first 5G capable mobile platform for premium tier smartphones and other mobile devices.  

Double single score performance since SD 835

Sony has a very tight relationship with Qualcomm and it is one of the early adopters and 4G MIMO innovators in the market. The last H8526 codenamed device has shown up at Geekbench and performed some 30 percent faster than Snapdragon 845 powered XZ2 phones.
