The G in the Snapdragon 765G stands for the gaming element of the chip and both the Snapdragon 765G and the Snapdragon 765 have integrated 5G Snapdragon X52 modems. 

The 5G will work up to 3.7Gbps and will enable inexpensive 5G for the devices around the world. Cristiano Amon, the CEO, mentioned that there are 230 5G devices in development right now.

The modem supports SA, non SA, millimeter waves, Dynamic Spectrum Sharing, and sub 6mm, and it is expected in devices in early 2020.

Alex mentioned that 2020 is the year to tie the 5G and AI together and that is the core of the next Snapdragon 765. He promised to give us more details about both platforms on the second day’s deep dive at the third Snapdragon technology summit in Maui, Hawaii.

Serio Buniac President Motorola was the first to announce a Snapdragon 765 based device coming in 2020 as well as the one based on the premium tier.
