iFixit finds 1GB RAM, 1043 mAh battery

iFixit has treated down iPod touch and it showed us what the device has inside.

We knew is the iPod comes with 4 inch 1136x640 pixel resolution with 326 PPI and support for Multi-Touch IPS technology, what is more interesting is under the bonnet.

iFixit has revealed the iPod's heart is A8 chip with 64-bit architecture or Apple A8 APL1011 SoC + SK Hynix RAM H9CKNNN8KTMRWR-NTH 1 GB LPDDR3 RAM.

The only difference between iPod touch 2015 and iPhone's A8 processor is that iPod chip is clocked at 1.1GHz.

The second important chip is the M8 Motion Coprocessor which is internally branded as NXP Semiconductors LPC18B1UK ARM Cortex-M3 Microcontroller.

The memory comes the accounting scandal ridden Toshiba and it has 16GB for $199, 32GB for $299 and 64GB for $399. The InvenSense MP67B 6-axis Gyroscope and Accelerometer takes care of the devices orientation and car playing games. The Bluetooth/Wi-Fi Module based on Broadcom BCM4354 device and iFixit is sure that Broadcom BCM5976 and Texas Instruments 343S0645 take care of touchscreen commands.

The device is hard to repair and getting only four out of ten in reparability scores. The iPod Touch 6th generation is great for kids whose parents want them to have a music device but they still don't trust them with the mobile network.
