Samsung apparently won’t offer a 64GB version of its flagship Galaxy S III handset. The move is hardly surprising given the availability of cheap microSD storage and Samsung’s pricing policy.
Apple can afford to charge a hefty premium for iPhones and iPads with more storage, but they don’t have microSD support. However, Samsung’s gear has microSD slots and users can use them to expand storage with relative ease and, more often than not, at the fraction of the cost of a device with more internal storage.
Late last year Samsung and Google also chose to drop the 32GB version of the Nexus Galaxy, so it wouldn’t be the first time that bean counters sat around the table, did some math and concluded that the 64GB version does not make much sense.

Update: Samsung told Androidcentral that the 64GB version will launch later this year. We still think it's pointless though.
