Sholes to be unveiled at September 10th event

Motorola has not had much to crow about lately, as many of the other handset/smartphone manufacturers seem to be passing the company by with new models with lots of innovative features. Motorola will be holding an event on September 10th where they will show their latest offerings.

As many already know, Motorola has been focused on building a series of next generation innovative smartphone offerings that are to be powered by the Android operating system. Our sources suspect that Moto team will show off all three of the new smartphones that they have in development, which are codenamed Sholes, Blur and Morrison.

Our sources are certain that they will show off and officially announce the Sholes model, but whether or not they show the Blur and Morrison seems to be a bit more of a toss up. From what we are hearing, the event will focus a good amount on developers to promote the building of applications for the Android platform (which, of course, is key to the continued success and momentum of the platform).

As for Motorola, the Android OS is the future and they do seem to have all of their eggs pretty much in this basket at the moment for the future smart phone development from the big M. The company needs a real break out here and a new sexy handset that can get people interested in the Motorola product line which really has not had a successful handset since the Razr craze a few years ago. Only time will tell if Motorola’s decision to bank on Android was the right decision for their development efforts moving forward, but one thing is for sure which is that this event will give us a look at where the future will be headed in the Motorola camp.
