$199 after $100 MIR with 2 year agreement

For those AT&T customers that have been waiting for the Curve 8900 to be available we can now confirm that it will launch on Friday, May 22nd for $199 after a $100 mail-in rebate with a new two-year agreement. This date is pretty solid and about as official as it gets.

The decision to launch on Friday is surprising, but still we expect it to hit the Web site at wireless.att.com on this day. As for the stores, our sources tell us that most stores should have inventory shortly after the launch date, with only some having it the actual day of the launch.

The only thing that could stop the launch is some sort of a software problem at the last second, but from the whispers that we hear, it has already been signed off on and cleared technical acceptance testing. We will have to wait and see what Friday brings. AT&T has pulled launches at the last second before, but we suspect that it will launch on Friday with no problems.
