Coming in November outside North America

We are not going to say that we didn’t tell you that the Javelin would wind up branded as the BlackBerry Curve 8900, but now our reports have confirmed that this is, in fact, the case.

The BlackBerry Curve 8900, as it is now known, has been announced for availability on T-Mobile Germany in November, but news on a North American launch date is still unknown at this time. If the Curve 8900 were to show up in North America before the holidays, we do suspect that it could likely only be on T-Mobile in the U.S., as other recent releases of BlackBerry models by the carriers might make the idea of the release of another BlackBerry model not something that fits into their current plans.

AT&T is reaching the end-of-life with the current BlackBerry Curve 8310 and has been moving to replace it with the 8320, which is basically the 8310 with the addition of WiFi support as well as the 4.5 version of the OS. AT&T would likely want to have the 8900 at some point to continue their success with the Curve, but the timing just may not be right.

With T-Mobile’s recent launch of the BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220, they just might be in a better position to offer the Curve 8900, but they do have some inventory of the Curve Sunset to move, which might delay their introduction of the Curve 8900 into the U.S. market space.

We suspect that North American customers will have to wait until after the first of the year to get their hands on the Curve 8900, while customers outside North America should be able to get a Curve 8900 under their tree this holiday season if that is what they are looking for.
