HSDPA, WiFi, Bluetooth and more

Asus might not be that well known for its mobile phones, but the company has been making Windows powered PDAs for some years and the natural transition was Windows Mobile powered phones. The latest addition to its range is the P750, which offers GPS, HSDPA, WiFi, Bluetooth and a wide range of other features.

The P750 appears to have at least a partial metal casing, it has a 2.6-inch touchscreen display with a native resolution of 240x320, it's powered by a 520MHz Marvell PXA270M processor, and has 256MB of ROM and 64MB or RAM.

It is a tri-band GSM and 2,100MHz 3G handset and it offers HSDPA speeds of up to 3.6Mbps. It also works with EDGE and GPRS if you'd happen to be in an area without 3G coverage. This means some limited coverage in the U.S. and some other parts of the world, like Japan and Korea.

As with many Asus devices, it has a built in SiRF Star III GPS reciever and Asus bundles the Travelog application with the P750, which is compatible with Google Earth. It allows you to save the GPS locations of pictures taken with the built-in 3Mega pixel camera; and you can then find the locations on Google Earth. There's also support for TMC (Traffic Message Service) for live traffic updates.

Further features includes a micro SD card slot, a front-mounted camera for video calls, 802.11b/g WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR and a USB 1.1 interface for syncing with your PC. The handset measures 113x58x17.4 mm (HxWxD) and weighs 130g.
