Western folks don’t like it

We've learned that rebranding of Radeon 3000 to 4000 will actually be limited to a few regions, but at the same time one of the biggest markets.

ATI might do this in China and Russia, but the western hemisphere should be free from it. The reason for it is that big OEMs that are selling in the U.S, and Europe are not big friends of the renaming idea, but at the end of the day, people do like higher numbers as they sound much better.

RV710 and 730 should be ready to jump in the big OEM designs shortly before Q4, and therefore these western partners will be able to get the real Radeon 4000 rather than fake, rebranded ones.

Nvidia was criticized for selling the same chip with other brands, but most of the market didn’t really mind and Nvidia had successful sales of many G92 iterations.
