XXX tops at 700MHz GPU clock

XFX has decided to launch three cards in its Geforce 9600GT series, two of them are overclocked and one will work at Nvidia's reference clocks.

The first one in line is XFX's Geforce 9600GT XXX version, working at 700MHz for the GPU, 2.0GHz for 512MB of GDDR3 memory and 1790MHz for the Shader clock. As with the entire Geforce 9 series this one also supports PCI-Express 2.0, Shader Model 4.0 and DirectX 10. The new XXX card from XFX supports HDMI with a little help from the HDMI upgrade kit, which is included with the card.

According to the product page at XFX's Website, the XXX version is the only card that comes with Company of Heroes game bundle and includes the HDMI upgrade kit. This is a nice touch to the whole high factory overclock deal, since it is nice to know that the high factory overclock isn't the only thing that you get if you decided to pay a premium for it.

The second card, named XFX Geforce 9600GT XT, has a more modest factory overclock of 680MHz for the core, 1.9GHz for memory, and 1700MHz for Shaders. It is like the XXX version with 512MB of GDDR3 memory with a 256-bit memory bus, but it lacks the HDMI upgrade kit and Company of Heroes game bundle. The third card is the reference clocked one, working at 650MHz for the core, 1.8GHz (900MHz effective) for the memory, and 1625MHz for Shaders.

All these cards use the same single slot reference cooling design. XFX's 9600GT is listed on our favorite European price search engine, Geizhals.at, ranging from €138.22 for the reference card to €154 for the XXX overclocked editon. The XT, or Extreme edition, retiails at €142.33. You can find them here.
