AMD confirms

After announcing that AMD lost $396 million in Q3, AMD gathered some analysts together and explained to them what the world is made of.

Techreport found out here that AMD talked publicly about its Spyder platform. This platform unifies Phenom CPU, RD790 motherboards and RV670 graphics and this is what AMD has to offer in 2007.

AMD said that it gained share in the mobile market, but it lost some share in the highly profitable server market and it promised that its Barcelona, K10 server part will be widely available in the middle of this quarter. So, this should happen in the middle of November.

AMD promises 45 nanometer in 1H 2008, which is a bit optimistic, and claims that the transition from FAB 30 to FAB38 is doing well.

We expect ATI will post a bit better score in Q4, and losing 200 million is AMD’s sweet spot right now, as this is roughly how much it costs them for ATI per quarter.

Intel has a really aggressive roadmap and they don't have any plans to let AMD breathe.
