AMD RDNA 2 Radeon RX 6000 series might launch in force

by on25 September 2020

In ample stock and "meeting proper expectation"

Nvidia had a rough start with its new RTX 3080, mostly due to scalpers, and it appears that AMD is looking not to make the same mistake.

In an exchange of tweets with Andre Elijah, a VR developer, Frank Azor, AMD's Chief Gaming Architect at AMD and Alienware/Dell veteran, suggested that AMD's upcoming RDNA 2/Radeon RX 6000 series won't have a paper launch and that the company is "doing their best to set and meet proper expectations".

AMD is set to talk about its RDNA 2 architecture and upcoming Radeon RX 6000 series on October 28th, so hopefully, we will get more information about the actual specifications, price, and availability date.

So far, AMD has promised 50 percent in performance-per-watt compared to the previous RDNA architecture and has unveiled the Radeon RX 6000 series design in both the Fortnite game and Twitter post, showing that it has ditched the blower-style design for good.

It remains to be seen how well it can battle out Nvidia's Ampere-based RTX 3000 series graphics cards.
