Same GP104 GPU but with more CUDA cores

According to the latest report, it appears that the upcoming Geforce GTX 1070 Ti could pack 2432 CUDA cores, significantly higher than it was earlier rumored.

According to a new rumor coming from Mydrivers.com site, the GTX 1070 Ti will be based on a version of the GP104 GPU with a single disabled Streaming Multiprocessor, ending up with 2432 CUDA cores, just 128 less than the GTX 1080 and significantly more than 2304, which was rumored earlier. The same report also suggests that the GTX 1070 Ti will have a 1607MHz base and 1683MHz GPU Boost clock, which are significantly higher than the ones on the GTX 1070.

The rumored GTX 1070 Ti will pack 8GB of GDDR5 memory clocked at 8.0GHz and with a 256-bit memory interface, it will end up with a memory bandwidth of 256 GB/s, same as the GTX 1070. The same source also suggests that the GTX 1070 Ti will have the same 180W TDP, just like the GTX 1080.

These specifications, if true, could put the upcoming GTX 1070 Ti close to the GTX 1080, at least performance-wise, which is a very interesting move from Nvidia.

The same report suggests that Nvidia could launch the Geforce GTX 1070 Ti in early November, making it ready for the Holiday shopping season and it will be 12.5 percent cheaper than the GTX 1080, which should put it at around US $460, or around US $50-$60 more expensive than the cheapest GTX 1070 that we could find.

With these specifications, Nvidia could put even more pressure on AMD and its RX Vega lineup and have quite a seller with the GTX 1070 Ti.
