New dual-fan cooler
Powercolor has released its custom HD 6900 series cards that feature a non-reference cooler with two fans. Unfortunately as these aren't a part of Powercolor's PCS series, the new cards will ship at reference clocks rather than with a solid, warranty backed, factory overclock.

Both the new custom cooled Powercolor HD 6950 and the HD 6970 will feature the same custom dual fan cooler that has two 92mm fans and 8mm heatpipes that should keep the Cayman GPU well cooled at decent noise levels. As noted, the cards are left at their reference clocks so you are looking at the HD 6950 clocked at 800MHz for the GPU and 1250MHz (5.0Gbps) for 2GB of GDDR5 memory paired up with a 256-bit memory interface. The HD 6970 ticks at 880MHz for the GPU and 1375MHz (5.5Gbps) for the same amount of memory.

Due to the recent GPU unlocking revelation, we guess that HD 6950 sounds like a sweet deal.
