AMD delays Antilles dual-GPU board

by on10 November 2010

Pushed back to Q1, Cayman coming in Q4

AMD has delayed the launch of its new flagship Antilles dual-GPU graphics card to Q1 2011.

According to AMD's new roadmap, the Antilles HD 6990 will appear in Q1, along with Turks and Caicos mainstream cores.

AMD's eagerly awaited HD 6950 and HD 6970 boards should still appear in Q4 2010, but we are not sure about the exact dates. The boards were originally scheduled to launch on November 22, but it appears that AMD has ran into some difficulties with the new cards.

Although AMD could meet the deadline, there is still a good chance the boards won't see mass availability on launch.
