Cebit 2009: Sapphire PURECrossfireX 790G DDR3 + HD4870 Crossfire

Sapphire pulled one of the more interesting stunts at Cebit. Visitors had a chance to see Ruby look a like, Sapphire's diva, put together a high end rig on Sapphire's stand.

The chassis was transparent, which made things a bit more interesting, and allowed the crowd to see the components being used. The gorgeous Ruby got some help from Andrea Dell' Amico, and the two of them put together a CrossfireX system in no time.

The system itself was based on Sapphire's new PURECrossfireX 790G (PE-AM3RS790G) motherboard with DDR3 support, which should hit retail soon. It worked flawlessly with two HD 4870 Toxic VaporX graphics cards.

You can see the transparent Microcool Banchetto 101 chassis, which was used in the project. It's looks splendid, if you don't find transparent sides too tacky and have some good hardware to show off.

The PURECrossfireX 790G features a hetpipe cooler on its chipet, and it stays surprisingly cool. Stability is assured via its 6-phase power supply.
