Twelve DisplayPort outputs

If you think that the HD 5870 Eyefinity 6 makes no sense than you'll certainly be puzzled by Powercolor's R&D team which has been playing with Radeon HD 5970 Eyefinity 12 card with, as you may already guessed, a total of twelve DisplayPort outputs.

According to a single picture that has appeared on Powercolor's Facebook page, the new card takes up three slots has 4GB of GDDR5 memory and features a total of twelve mini DisplayPort ports. The card is still in its R&D phase and might not even find its way to market. When you think about it, it makes sense if you are in dire need of more than six monitors and still want your card to pack enough punch for something serious.

As far as the specs go, we are quite sure that this one won't be different than any other HD 5970 on the market so you can expect the same clocks and same cooler. We are quite sure that Powercolor will probably use it at Computex, at least for the sake of marketing and fun.
