More performance, more monitors

AMD has
introduced five new ATI FirePro professional graphics cards aimed at all market segments. The company recently launched the V8800, the industry's fastest professional graphics card to date, but the new products are aiming at somewhat less demanding pros.

The V7800 is based on the HD 5850, but it offers 2GB of memory and Eyefinity support for up to three 30-inch displays. The Mid range V5800 packs 1GB of memory and it can also drive up to three displays. AMD claims that it's twice as fast as its predecessor. The V4800 and V3800 have 1GB and 512MB of memory respectively and they also support Eyefinity, making them a great choice for CAD users who don't need too much muscle.

The FirePro 2460 is something completely different. It's a low-profile card capable of supporting up to four displays and it's aimed at financial institutions, so it will probably be used by SEC staff to watch porn while the Bernie Madoffs of this world go about their business and steal everything in sight.
