Big improvements on DirectX 12

Tom Clancy's The Division is set to officially launch on March 15th and Ubisoft has released its final system requirements showing that the game highly benefits from DirectX 12 API.

According to the official system requirements, you will need at least an AMD FX-6350 CPU or Intel's Core i5-2500K, paired up with 8GB of RAM, as well as either a Radeon R9 270 or Nvidia Geforce GTX 670 to get 30fps at 1080p and minimum settings.

In order to get 1080p at 60fps on recommended settings, the requirements go slightly up to Ryzen 5 1500X or Core i7-4790, 8GB of RAM, and either Radeon RX 480 or Geforce GTX 970 with 4GB of VRAM.

For those looking to get the most out of the game, and run it at 4K at 60fps, Ubisoft recommends Ryzen 7 2700X or Core i9-7900X, 16GB of RAM and either the latest Radeon VII or RTX 2080 Ti.

The game will work on Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10 OS, and supports both DirectX 11 and DirectX 12 APIs, but according to some of the first performance details, it appears that it highly benefits from the DirectX 12 API, getting significant performance improvements.

DSOGaming.com had a chance to test the private Beta, and see decent performance improvements of around 10 to 20 fps on average and minimum framerates.

The new Snowdrop engine obviously prefers DirectX 12 and we will see some more performance analysis as the game officially launches on March 15th.
