TxK to be an updated Tempest 2000

What happens when you take one of the best Atari Jaguar games and reimagine it with the updated hardware of today? Well we don’t yet know, but Jeff Minter developer of Tempest 2000 on the Jaguar intends to find out with his new PlayStation Vita title, to be called TxK.

On Minter’s blog he talks about his inspiration and plan to take Tempest in an all new direction with TxK. Minter made his name in the 1980s with a number of titles; but most recently he is remembered for the Xbox 360 Arcade release known as Space Giraffe, which he released via his Liamasoft studio in 2008. (We fondly remember Space Giraffe for being one impossible game!)

While Minter is excited about TxK, he does not yet know when it will be finished or when he is targeting the title for release. We suggest that following the Liamasoft blog will be the best way to stay apprised of the latest updates.
