Prototype deserves a sequel

by on14 December 2010

Radical says fans have expected it
The announcement of Prototype 2 this weekend at the Video Gaming Awards had a number of people talking. A number of analysts we have spoken with did seem surprised that the game developed by Radical Entertainment would be getting a sequel after all.

The first Prototype didn’t exactly sell through the roof, but it did manage to rack up a little more than two million copies sold for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. While two million isn’t a bad number when attempting to establish a new franchise, it was a bit less than the studio apparently was hoping for.

Still, Radical is saying that Prototype 2 will be a bigger and better experience than the first game and will deliver the answer to what happens next to Alex Mercer; which is what fans of the game really want to know.

The game is not scheduled for release till 2012 and is being developed for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. In the meantime, those who want to give the first Prototype a try can do so, as a digital download has been released for both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 for only $29.99; but sources tell us that you might be able to find a better deal on a used copy at your local game store.
