DICE has apparently been considering the possibility of adding both support for Move and 3D on the PlayStation 3 for Battlefield 3. While Karl Magnus Troedsson, the GM of DICE, confirms that they are thinking about it, no decision has been made at this point.
While DICE has admitted looking at support for Move and 3D for the PlayStation 3, there is no word on the possibility of Kinect or 3D support on the Xbox 360. While the Xbox 360 3D is possible, as has been seen in other titles, adding Kinect support is apparently off the table, according to sources we have spoken with.
DICE has seen what was done with Killzone 3 and Move using the PlayStation Move SharpShooter and they do think supporting it in Battlefield 3 is possible. In fact, DICE believes that their technology makes the possible support of Move a step beyond what has been seen to date due to the stronger technology since Battlefield 3 was built.
DICE has confirmed that the game will arrive late in 2011, but still no official release date has been confirmed. It is believed that if the title arrives before the holidays this year, it is likely slated for a Black Friday or first week of December release date. It is widely expected that DICE and Electronic Arts will announce the official release date later this year at E3 in June, which gives DICE some additional time to determine if they can make a release date this year or not. Sources confirmed that Battlefield 3 is on track for release; right now, barring any delays, it should arrive yet this year.
