With Dreamcast classics Sonic Adventure and Crazy Taxi now re-released for both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 as part of Sega’s initiative to re-release enhanced versions of previous popular Dreamcast classics, the company has announced the next in line two titles for release.
As surprising as it may seem, Sega has selected Space Channel 5 Part 2 and SEGA Bass Fishing as the next two titles to get the HD remastering treatment. The selection of Space Channel 5 Part 2 is actually a pretty good choice and will likely be popular with fans, but SEGA Bass Fishing might meet with more head scratching.
According to our sources, the selection of Space Channel 5 Part 2 was easy, as it was one of the most requested titles. The choice of SEGA Bass Fishing, however, was a response to hardcore players who wanted to see the 3D bass fishing simulation get the HD makeover. It is said that the game is actually quite fun with its eight fishing spots and fourteen different lures to reel in the catch of the day.
Whispers suggest that so far Sega has been pleased with the results of the program and is planning more releases for 2011, as well. Beyond the news that we would see Space Channel 5 Part 2 and SEGA Bass Fishing in early 2011, no additional release details were given.
