HP Chromebook spec leaked

by on29 January 2013

Celeron based 14-incher

HP’s first Chromebook seems to be on the way and The Verge has the lowdown, thanks to an HP leak.

The HP Pavilion Chromebook is a 14-incher, powered by a 1.1GHz Celeron processor (presumably a dual-core Celeron 847) and it features 2GB of RAM, along with 16GB of solid-state storage.

It’s quite a bit bigger than Chromebooks announced by other vendors, as most of them feature 11.6-inch screens. The additional real estate could come in handy for some, but then again it needs a lot more juice. HP puts the Pavilion Chromebook’s battery life at 4 hours and 15 minutes, which doesn’t sound very impressive.

There is still no word on pricing or availability, but the leaked PDF has an embargo date of February 17, so it’s probably just three weeks away from launch.
