Samsung readies first 13-inch Trinity ultrathin

by on05 September 2012

Starting at €600

Much has been said about AMD’s new Trinity APUs in both mobile and desktop flavors, but so far ULV flavored parts have been conspicuously absent from the market.

Basically, we had hoped to see the first Trinity ULV ultrathins months ago and we are still waiting. Enter Samsung’s 535U3C, a humble 13-incher based on AMD’s new 17-watt A6-4455M APU, clocked at 2.1GHz.

The 535U3 features a 13.3-inch matte screen in 1366x768, 500GB of storage, 6 or 8GB of RAM and integrated HD 7500 graphics, all juiced up by a 4-cell battery, which should be enough for 6.5 hours of budget ultrathin computing. It also features USB 3.0, HDMI, abgn wireless and Bluetooth 4.0. Not bad for a 1.52kg package priced at less than €600.

Bear in mind that we are talking about early listigns and first two SKUs, so there’s a chance that Samsung will offer even cheaper versions later on, making it an even better deal.

As for the design, well we guess it is ok, but we can already see it in front of judge Lucy Koh.
