MSI is planning to release its first Pine Trail Atom-based netbook at
CES, and it will also include a touchscreen to make things a bit more
interesting.
MSI's U.S. rep Andy Tung says the new Atom provides better graphics
performance and a 20 percent drop in power consumption. The biggest
difference, however, is its reduced TDP, which will allow vendors to
come up with fanless designs.
MSI is hoping that it will be the first company to ship Pine Trail
products, but it's still not clear when Intel will start shipping the
new platform, although it hopes to see Pine Trail products in retail by
the end of the year.
