Apple has launched its eagerly awaited iPod Nano player today.

The new Nano features a much larger two inch 320x240 (QVGA) display which is 65% brighter than the previous generation and can play H.264 videos. An all new UI with Cover Flow is used.

It can deliver up to 24 hours audio playback and 5 hours video playback on a single charge.

The design is all metal, anodized aluminum and brushed stainless steel. It's a bit slimmer and wider than the old one and it will be available in silver, black, blue, green and a red special edition.

"We've taken the most popular music player in the world and added stunning video playback just in time for the holiday season," said Steve Jobs, Apple's CEO. "The iPod nano just keeps getting better and better with each new generation."

It ships with three games, and more are available on the iTunes store.

The 4GB model is available in silver and costs $149, while the 8GB version is available in silver, black, blue, green and red for $199. You can get them now, through the Apple Store, here.
