The distributors of the Ubuntu Linux
distribution, Canonical have denied that its operating system has security
problems after it was revealed its servers had been attacking
others.
Five out of eight community-run servers
sponsored by Canonical had to shut down after they started the
attacks.
However in an email Canonical community
manager Jono Bacon said that there were no problems with its production servers
and the problems were with loco servers that the company pays for but that do
not sit in Canonical admitted that the servers had
been poorly managed. because the responsibility for security lay between
Canonical and the community.
