Montreal facility said to be home to 300

In what comes as somewhat of a surprise announcement, Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment has announced that they will be setting up shop in Canada with a new studio. The new studio, which will be located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, will be home to about 300 employees once the new studio is fully up and running by the end of 2015.

The decision by WBIE is due in part to take advantage of an excellent package of incentives from the Canadian government, including a $7.5 million dollar grant from the Quebec government. The choice of Montreal comes really as no surprise, as the area is home to many software development studios and it does make an excellent choice these days to have a studio there because of the abundant number of experienced developers in the region.

The new studio is targeted to focus on development of high-end interactive gaming titles as well as digital/cinematographic animation. However, our behind-the-scenes moles whisper that the studio will have a big focus on Warner-owned DC properties. The final management team for the new studio will be announced at a later date.
