Social networking giant Facebook announced that it will make short work of applications that supposedly allow users to see who is viewing their profile.
Basically, the outfit claims there is no way such apps can work, as
they cannot access private information, so it seems they were just made
by blokes who wanted to earn some easy money on paranoia. Users who
faced psychos on Facebook might be a bit disappointed to hear this, but
such apps don't work and according to Facebook, they never will.
Facebook claims it will still continue to operate an open app system so
that more developers can pitch in and contribute to the community. The
outfit probably won't follow Apple's footsteps and start vetting apps
or removing them because they show a bit cleavage, unless it's got too
much cellulite.
