But only if you don't read Fudzilla

According to a team of Leeds University psychologists, some 1.2 percent of people are internet addicts and many of them are depressed. Reading tech tabloids was linked to bipolar disorder and obsessive compulsive disorder.

However, researchers warn that they're really not sure whether addiction caused depression, or if it was the other way around. In any case, they concluded most internet users did not suffer any mental health problems. We guess they don't read the same forums we do.

Researchers based their results on 1,319 responses to questionnaires and they found 18 of them were addicts, i.e. persons who replaced true social interaction with chat rooms and social networking services.

You can find out more here, and we made the tech tabloid bit up. Reading Fudzilla is generally good for you, although it's known to cause cancer in laboratory animals.
