Microsoft confirms this is the case

Microsoft has finally confirmed the release of the Xbox 360 N Wireless adapter that is showing up on retailer shelves today. Besides the added benefit of speed brought by the 802.11n wireless standard support, the adapter also supports the WPA2 encryption standard for a higher level of security.

Of course, you will need a wireless access point or router to connect your Xbox 360 using the N Wireless adapter, but it will improve throughput, which is necessary to stream HD content and enjoy lag free gaming. The wireless N adapter for the Xbox 360 is available for a suggested retail price of $99.99.

As part of the introduction of the new Xbox 360 N Wireless Adapter, the suggested retail price of the older A/B/G Wireless Adapter will drop by $20. The standard Xbox 360 Wireless Adapter will now be sold for a suggested retail price of $79.99. Sources indicate that Microsoft seems to have no immediate plans to discontinue this older model at this time.
