Cebit 2007: Blu-ray player, Small SD camera, Full HD TV

On Panasonic's boot, besides the HD Cameras, we’ve seen a little toy named SDR-S10 which uses SDHC Memory Card for storage. This small SD Camcorder is only 11 cm long and 3 cm thick, which is enough to slide in to your pocket.

It features fold out 2.7 inch LCD and thanks to SD/SDHC Memory Card data can be read instantly unlike the hard drives and DVD disks. Because of that Panasonic developed a Quick Start function that allows the SDR-S10 to begin recording just 1.7 seconds after the power is switched on.

The SDR/S10 is embedded in shock resistant housing and it can handle a few drops of water making it suitable for outdoor activities. Zoom is 10x optical and comes with 2GB SD Memory card which is enough for 50 minutes of video in MPEG 2 format and SP mode.

The next thing we saw was about 50 times bigger than 2.7 inch LCD screen on SDR/S10 Camcorder. We are talking about 103 inch Full HD 1080p HD plasma TV connected via HDMI cable with the X-Box.

On almost all of new HDTV TV's they have one HDMI port or SD card reader on front side for easier connecting of peripheral devices

Panasonic presented new version of Blu-ray DMP-BD10 disc player named DMP/BD10A. It supports today's latest 7.1-channel surround sound formats like Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD High-Resolution Audio. Dolby TrueHD uses a lossless audio codec compression to deliver up to 7.1-channel surround sound with (theoretically) studio-master sound quality.

They've shown the difference between Blu-Ray MPEG2 with increased rate of 18 MBit/s VS. standard definition MPEG2 with 5.2MBit/s.

We've seen a heavy armoured laptop Thoughbook CF-30 with Intel Core Duo processor 1.66GHz and integrated Intel graphics controller 945GM which should be usable in hostile environment. It is water, vibration and kick resistant.

For demanding business users there is ultra portable Business PC-s CF-W5 that weights 1.24 kg, and it comes with 12.1 inch display  and battery life up to  11 hours.CF-T5 is in the same class but it has a touch screen with battery life up to 14 hours,  but it comes without DVD or CD.  Because of its touch screen it is also 300 grams heavier than CF-W55.
