Acer Predator gaming rigs recalled
Faulty wiring poses burn hazard
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission is recalling two models of Acer Predator gaming desktops due to faulty internal wiring.
Acer has apparently received two reports of insulation failure on Predators, which resulted in a bunch of melted components and a messed up chassis. The recall affects ASG7200 and ASG7700 models, sold between May and December 2008.
Consumers are being asked to stop using affected Predators immediately and contact their local Acer dealer for repairs.
