Should hit the rest of the world shortly

There's a lot of news about Acer's new 10-inch Aspire One and we can now report that it's already on sale in Taiwan and supposedly also in Hong Kong. The price seems to be about the same as the list price in Europe, at around €400.

However, one interesting point is that the model listed in Taiwan doesn't seem to have the Atom N280 processor as suggested in the European listings, as instead it's listed as using the standard Atom N270. This could possibly be a mistake by the online retailer in Taiwan, although it could simply be that Acer is trying to get rid of stock of older Atom processors in the APAC market.

Digitimes is suggesting that the new 10-inch models should hit the rest of the world "mid-February" according to its sources and as this is in about a week or two, we think they're pretty much spot on. Digitimes is also quoting Acer's chairman JT Wang as saying that Acer is targeting to ship 12-15 million netbooks this year.
