Nvidia claims

Although Nvidia’s Ion platform has been through some turbulent times, even at its infant stage, it seems that the company is keen on bringing this platform forward. According to Nvidia, some PC vendors have decided to go with Ion and we’ll see products based on it by late Q2 or early Q3 this year.

The company refused to comment further, but the rumors are already going around about Apple as the possible candidate. This wouldn’t be the least bit unlikely, as Intel’s old man-945 is clearly inferior to Geforce 9400 (MCP79), and the latter has the muscle to run some older games, as well as 1080p HD video reproduction. Be it as it may, it still doesn’t rule out a swarm of other vendors that surely can’t wait to ditch the 945-series, although this would probably mean loosing some face with Intel.

In a nice marketing move, Nvidia also suggested that consumers contact their favorite vendors and ask them when their Ion-based products are due. Well, Nvidia fans finally have a chance to make a difference and help their company, and all it takes is a couple of phone calls. (International calls, starting with "please hold"... sub.ed.)
