AMD snatches a VP from Intel as well

Vice President of Intel's Core and Visual Computing Group

While Intel managed to grab some key graphics guys from AMD, it appears that AMD can play that same game as Intel's VP Core and Visual Computing Group, Martin Ashton, has moved to AMD.

While Intel managed to get both Raja Koduri and Chris Hook from AMD, according to Hexus.net, it appears that AMD has now returned a favor by snatching Martin Ashton, who recently had the title of Vice President, Core and Visual Computing Group, Chief Engineer, VTT and Director of Hardware and Co-Director of Architecture, VPG at Intel.

According to AMD's David Wang, Martin and his talent are welcomed at AMD as he joins as Corporate Vice President. By quickly checking Martin's Linkedin, you can see that this is a veteran in the graphics industry, working as EVP of Engineering for PowerVR at Imagination Technologies since 1991 to 2016 and then switching to Intel for two years.

“We are very happy to bring Martin and his talent to AMD for our graphics roadmap and our business. David Wang is building a great team from both within AMD with key promotions and with key external additions like Martin."

While Intel certainly got a better deal with Raja Koduri and marketing veteran like Chris Hook, it appears that the company certainly appreciate the recent switch.
