Apple launches rather pricey PC

Dig deep, you fanboys

Steve Jobs' firm has introduced a fancy new iMacPro which will set you back more than a buck or two.

The iMac Pro costs $5,000 in the USA and is available today. Maybe you fancy asking Santa Claus to bring it down your chimney, on the off chance you don't have the spare change in your pocket?

So what's so special about it?

Apple said that it includes Xeon processors with up to 18 cores, gives 22 teraflops for graphics and a 27-inch Retina 5K display.

Apple is keen to stress that the machine has a "stunning space grey finish" and matches this with a matching Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse.

It has four microphones, a 1080p FaceTime HD camera and can shout at you through its speakers at 50 percent more volume.

The machine also has four Thunderbolt 3 ports and will support two 5K displays simultaneously. The machine comes with a Radeon Pro Vega 64 that is the fastest ever graphics that Apple used in its expensive Pro setups.

It will also support 4TB of SSD and 128GB memory and will connect to one or two RAID arrays. If you add the optional "extras", probably even Father Christmas would say no.
