We are the big bananas, bozo

There is nothing more amusing than when two bosses of IT companies have a hissy fit and chuck their toys at each other.

IBM's Senior Vice President and Group Executive, Systems & Technology Group, Robert Moffat, and Hewlett-Packard Chairman and CEO Mark Hurd are having a Tweedledum and Tweedledee battle over who has the biggest market share in servers. Moffat said that Hurd's recent claims about it having the largest market share were untrue.

IBM "kicked his ass: Z Series outgrew anything that he sells." Moffat added that Big Blue's Power servers outgrew anything that Hurd sells.

"He didn't gain share despite the fact that we screwed up execution in the X Series. So, the rhetoric of buying a services company [EDS] and putting it into your results didn't quite give him the desired effect it may have."

He said that the only reason Moffat went into it with that level of emotion is because he thought it was important "we get the record set straight on what has happened. If we didn't screw up X we would have killed them. But we screwed it up."

More rant here.
