iTunes goes DRM free

Apple's iTunes
online music store recently started selling DRM-free tracks. However, DRM-free tracks still contain the embedded data, such as name, account number, e-mail etc, and some suspicions arose.

To this date it is still unknown what Apple intends to do with this data, as they've refused to comment, but rumor has it that it will be used to pinpoint users who might make these available for free download.

EMI's DRM-free tracks are of higher quality than iTunes' tracks – but do cost a little more. Still, the difference is in mere cents, so we're quite confident no one will mind.
