Hits Europe next month

Samsung has finally come clean about its NC10 netbook and although it doesn't seem to have any "in your face" features, it looks like another solid contender. The base spec is a single-core Atom N270 processor, Intel 945GMS chipset, 1GB of RAM, 80 or 160GB hard drive and a 10.2-inch 1,024x600 display with LED backlight, although interestingly, Samsung has gone for a non-glossy panel.

Other features include 802.11b/g WiFi, 10/100Mbit Ethernet, Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR, a 1.3Megapixel Web cam, a multi-format memory card reader, three USB 2.0 ports, headphone and mic jacks and a D-sub connector.

Samsung has also fitted the NC10 with an antibacterial keyboard that uses silver nano technology to prevent the breeding of germs. We're also happy to see that Samsung has gone for a 6-cell battery with a claimed battery life of up to eight hours.

The NC10 weighs in at 1.33kg with the 6-cell battery, which makes it about 100g lighter than some of its competitors. It might end up being somewhat expensive, though, as Samsung will only offer Windows XP, but no pricing was announced.
