27-inches of LCD goodness

Dell has just launched a brand new 27in LCD display with 1,920x1.200 resolution and a wide range of juicy features considering the overall decent price the company has put on this rather large display. The only downside is that Europe gets screwed on the pricing once again.

Nonetheless, the UltraSharp 2709W features a 6ms response time, 450cd/m2 brigtness and a 3,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. It also has a new black design, although it doesn't really stand out from Dell's other display designs.

What's more important is the wide range of connectivity options it offers, as you get HDMI, DisplayPort, DVI, D-sub, component video, composite video and a four-port USB hub, as well as a built-in memory card reader. However, the U.S. Dell Website doesn't list DisplayPort as part of the specifications, even though the U.K. and German Websites do.

In terms of cost, well, in the U.S. it's going for $999 (£507/€643) excluding tax and shipping, in the U.K. it's £635.68 (€808/$1254) and in Germany it goes for €905.59 (£716/$1413); although the U.K. and German prices include tax and shipping.

For once it seems like at least the U.K. gets a half decent deal, but for some reason this monitor is a lot more expensive in Germany, which we can't quite figure out why. Have a look at your local Dell Website for more information.
