It seems that the sometimes crazy additions to all things Guitar Hero will be getting another boost in the first quarter of 2009 when San Francisco Bay area band, Metallica, will become the second band to get a specialized version of Guitar Hero that is focused on them.

Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, is the first upcoming release that is taking the series away from the typical mix of music that has been featured in the title to a version of the game that focuses strictly on one band. While the games feature a variety of songs from the featured band spanning their career, it also features additional tracks from bands that they have been influenced by, as well as tracks that the band likes.

Guitar Hero: World Tour, which is really nothing more than Guitar Hero IV, is still on track to ship across multiple platforms for the 2008 holiday season. Next up will be the release of Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, which is still on track to be launched on multiple platforms at the end of this month.
