That’s a lot of overpriced plasticky phones

Samsung has something to brag about yet again. The Korean giant said Monday that global sales of its flagship Galaxy S series phones surpassed 100 million since 2010.

The company managed to sell 25 million first generation Galaxy S units, 40 million Galaxy S II phones and 41 million Galaxy S III handsets. Let’s not forget that Samsung also offers a myriad of low-end Android smartphones, as well as Galaxy Note phablets.

For a bit of perspective, Apple sold 100 million iPhones between 2007 and 2011, so it appears Samsung’s Galaxy S line is doing rather well. Samsung is expected to launch its fourth generation Galaxy S handset in April or May, depending on which rumour you pick.
