VIA is back, this time with the world’s smallest x86 quad-core system, the VIA Artigo A1250.

Featuring a 1GHz quad-core VIA processor and VX11H media system processor, the A1250 measures 17.1x12.5x3 cm, so it’s absolutely tiny. However, it’s not quite as compact as some nettops based on Brazos and Atom chips, but it really is the smallest quad-core system.

The typical power consumption is 32W and the A1250 can be mounted on the back of a monitor or TV with a standard 10x10cm VESA mount. It features two USB 3.0 ports, HDMI, VGA and gigabit LAN.

No word on price yet, but don’t expect it to come cheap.
