E3 to remain in Los Angeles

A deal for three more years

The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) has confirmed that it has cut a deal for the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) to remain in its present location in the Los Angeles Convention Center for three more years.

While the ESA confirmed that talks to move E3 to a new venue were “very serious,” remaining in in L.A. was clearly the best decision. ESA also confirmed that the 2013 event will take place from June 11th to June 13th.

Rumors had been rumbling that E3 would move from its current venue in L.A. to a new venue in New York. ESA has tried to move the event before, but in the end it has returned to L.A.’s Convention Center.

Las Vegas simply is not an option because of the many distractions present in the city. Many employees have looked into a Las Vegas site and the proposal simply isn't viable. Imagine all the gambling, night clubs and other events going on in the city 24/7, it's simply a hard task to maintain focus in a city as alive as Vegas.
