Creative announced yet another version of their X-Fi card, called SB-XFI-SR5 (Sound Blaster X-Fi Surround 5.1). It's a USB interface card that's aimed at notebooks and will be unveiled during the second week of May. However, this might be the move that was well expected, since Creative really brought about some angry customers with their recent saga.
The plan is obviously quite clear – launch a couple of new products and make some noise until your (former) proud customers forget all about the fact that you're selling them dubious bits of code that will eventually make you buy another card.
This card will feature X-FI Crystalizer, CMSS-3D technology and will decode Dolby Digital/DTS audio and should be priced at less than US$90.
At press time, Creative's official Website didn’t list this card, but you can check it out here.
