Microsoft Phone won’t turn up on tablets

No change in attitude
Microsoft is telling the world that it will never use Windows Phone as a tablet operating system. Just looking at the name should have been enough, but punters continued to speculate about possible WP tablets despite Microsoft’s claims to the contrary.

Windows Phone president Andy Lees stressed that Microsoft views tablets as PCs, rather than overgrown phones or PMPs. That would be Apple. Lees argues that using WP Mango on tablets would against this idea, since Microsoft believes tablets should be able to do anything a proper PC can.

This means that we will have to wait for Windows 8 to see Redmond approved tablets, which is probably good news for the likes of AMD and Intel, despite the fact that ARM support will be on board as well.
