At least in Japan

According to our colleagues at UK's Reghardware, Asus has officialy announced its Windows XP version of Eee PC in Japan.

In addition to the Windows XP Home Edition, 4G-X branded Eee PC will have the same specs as its Linux brother, 4GB of SSD storage, Intel Celeron M working at 900MHz, 512MB of DDR2 memory, 7-inch 800x480 display, three USB 2.0 ports, SDHC card reader, 10/100Mb/s LAN, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi and 0.3M webcam.

The Japanese version of XP Eee PC will come bundled with a 4GB SDHC card, which will probably lead to a marketing trick so Asus will claim that it comes with 8GB of storage. Buyers of this one will also get an optical mouse and free access to NTT's WiFine hotspot network.

The new XP Eee PC 4G-X will go on sale in Japan on Friday, with the price of ¥50,000 ($468/£239/€320). According to Reghardware, users with dead pixels will get a free replacement if they notify Asus within 30 days of purchase.
